The National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) categorically refutes baseless allegations regarding the appointment of Syed Mustafa Hasan as Administrator.

NICVD Spokesman clarifies that the claim regarding Syed Mustafa Hasan holding a diploma is completely baseless. He has been an integral part of NICVD for 35 years, serving in key roles across Procurement, Store, and Maintenance departments. His promotion to BPS-18 was made in 2017, not recently, as some reports have incorrectly suggested.

He informed that , Following the resignation of the Chief Operating Officer (COO), NICVD required an experienced senior officer for administrative oversight, leading to Syed Mustafa Hasan’s appointment as Administrator.

Audit Para & Complaint Clarification

A letter from the Enquiries & Anti-Corruption Establishment, Services, General Administration & Coordination Department, Sindh, regarding a complaint against Syed Mustafa Hasan’s appointment is circulating in the media. However, NICVD has not yet officially received it. If such a letter is received, NICVD will respond accordingly.

As a responsible public healthcare institute, NICVD remains fully cooperative and committed to transparency and accountability. We have complete trust in our institutions and will submit a legal response as required. Our dedication to serving the nation with integrity remains unwavering.

It is also important to highlight that the audit para regarding Syed Mustafa Hasan dates back to FY 2022-23, whereas Syed Mustafa Hasan was posted as Administrator in December 2023, making the observation irrelevant to his current role. Furthermore, Audit paras are proposed audit observations on which NICVD responds timely. NICVD has already provided a detailed response addressing all concerns for FY 2022-23.

Why is This Matter Being Raised after One Year?

Since his appointment, Syed Mustafa Hasan has enforced strict policies in procurement and other key areas under the direct instructions of the Executive Director. This discipline and transparency have unsettled certain elements with vested interests. As a result, these individuals have resorted to spreading false allegations and misinformation through media groups.

It is crucial to question: Why is this issue being raised after a year? Some employees with personal interests are attempting to defame NICVD and pressure the management into making decisions that serve their agendas. However, NICVD will not compromise with any culprits and will take strict action against anyone found guilty of misconduct.

*NICVD’s Unmatched Healthcare Services & Growth*

Despite baseless allegations, NICVD remains committed to its mission of providing world-class, free-of-cost cardiac care to the people of Pakistan. In 2024, NICVD treated a record-breaking 1.4 million patients—completely free of cost—with the support of the Sindh Government.

Additionally, NICVD achieved a historic number of Primary PCI procedures, ensuring timely life-saving interventions. To enhance patient care, NICVD has also established a dedicated patient attendants’ area and installed cold filtered water dispensers for the comfort of patients and their families.

NICVD urges media friends to verify facts before spreading misinformation. Any entity making baseless claims must provide strict proof. NICVD reserves the right to take legal action against those engaged in misleading and defamatory reporting.

NICVD remains focused on saving lives and delivering excellence in cardiac care and will not be distracted by false narratives.
