The Young Doctors Association (YDA) Karachi has welcomed the appointment of Dr. Saddam Saleh as the Assistant Director of Procurement at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC). According to the press release issued on 3rd July 2025, this decision, taken by the Honourable Secretary Health and the Director of JPMC, has been termed as a bold move towards transparency, accountability, and youth empowerment in public healthcare administration.

Dr. Saddam Saleh, known for his integrity and progressive mindset, takes charge of a department that has been under serious scrutiny due to past allegations of mismanagement and unethical practices. YDA Karachi has urged that the failures of previous administrations should not be associated with this new leadership, and that Dr. Saleh deserves full support to bring about the much-needed reforms.

The association further emphasized that any attempt to malign or discourage this capable official is unwelcome and counterproductive. They called on all stakeholders to cooperate in good faith and focus on improving services for the patients and public welfare.

Moreover, YDA Karachi demanded a formal inquiry into the previous Assistant Director of Procurement, who allegedly failed to ensure the timely purchase of essential medicines, resulting in critical shortages during past emergencies.

“Real progress begins when capable and honest individuals are given the opportunity to lead,” the statement concluded.
