Karachi: It was revealed that the then management of Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB) during 2019-2020 involved in alleged corruption of rupees 1.220 billion through using para 58 of Emergency works.

Whereas,Aabkar Workers Union submitted 135 pages documentation proof in National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on 2nd September 2021 regarding allegations of 70 percent officers of KWSB involvement in getting contracts and partnership of the then MD KWSB Asadullah Khan with contractors.

However the said union in a letter to NAB asked for transparent inquiry of all Civil, Electrical and Mechanical Emergency works during financial year of 2019-2020.

Whereas on the complaint of union NAB on 2nd June 2023 issued Call up Notice to Chairman Aabkar Workers Union to attend the office of Incharge complaint verification cell on 12th June 2023 along with necessary original documents/evidence .

However, union claimed in a letter submitted to NAB that all market quotations of Electrical & Mechanical pumping water ,sewerage stations and civil work of entire Karachi are fake and fabricated by the concerned Assistant Executive Engineer, Executive Engineer, Superintending Engineer and Chief Engineer .

Speaking with Daily City News Aabkar Workers Union General Secretary Junaid khan expressed hope that NAB will now investigate the said matter and bring the culprits behind bars who involved in embezzlement of government funds.
