Deputy Commissioner Dr. Raja MB Dharejo stated that Basically we are celebrating this world environment day to preserve our ecosystem and we want to save our environment, Dr. Dharjo Said the main motive of this day to celebrate is that we need to change ourselves and behavior, he emphasizes that we need to bring awareness in the community.
He said Due to the climate changes the weather has been affected and the temperature is growing day by day.
Dr. Dharejo Said Climate changes would affect us badly, our health, Crops and animals are being destroyed, and we must take precautionary measures to save the environment. He said being a citizen we are responsible for climate change and its effects. He said in Umerkot District we have brick kilns that use plastic bags for preparing the bricks which is not good for health as well as for the surrounding environment and this way the smoke is spreading and its touching environment badly.
He said bag of plastic is very dangerous for the environment avoid to use , he requested to the audience please use cloth beg for your use, people are cutting trees everyday in their areas which is very serious issues for is that creating more problem us in perspective of greenery , he said that we born in the society where we are habitual to use plastic , he said people need to teach their kids about friendly environment, he said that the usage of plastic is very dangerous for our health and environment .
The Participants said Environment is a global issue and we must take precautionary measures to protect our environment. They said the very recent climate and environment changes our life all of sudden, while they were talking to the audience they said Due to climate changes we are facing multiple crises in Pakistan, it’s very harsh for us. We must save our environment .Being a citizen and an individual it’s our responsibility to save our environment.
Heat view and temperature Is growing all of a sudden its climates effect on the earth. Last year in Jacobabad we recorded 53 Temperatures, this year the weather has changed.
The expert says we must ensure to save water as per need. We are using water without any care. We have to be responsible citizens to save the water.
They said we are using plastic shopper and bottles which very dangerous for us need to use cloth bags , after using plastic bag we thrown it in the Open gutter, on main roads even though cannot put in the dustbin or we need to discard it within the jurisdiction .
Program officer from Islamabad M.s Aalia and Imran have said that the People who are sitting in this hall on the occasion of World Environment day must promise that they will plant trees and try their best to protect the environment, also they said we need to stop usage of plastic which is our primary responsibility.
From DDMA Sabir Hussain Mahar has said that the because of climate change heat vew and temperature is growing , he said that climate change is big phenomena in the globe and people has started work on it many year back while we have no any solution for the reduction of climate changes , Mr Sabir said people are using water in a wrong way , they need to use as per their need . He also said due to climate changes, the weather has changed , also the people in the city or in the villages are cutting trees and selling them , which is a very bad thing.
He said we need to use water in a good way or we should face crises in the next few years. He said in the natural ways people have occupied there is no way for the water to drain out when rain comes.
Assistant director of Sindh protection agency (SEPA) Ali Muhammad rind has said that according to data we have use plastic around 8.3 billion, While 6.3 billion we through in the sea , he said every day 2 thousands trucks we dumbed of the garbage, He said plastic takes 1 thousands year to be destroy now in the sea we can only find plastic instead fish others , He requested to the audience that make sure use a cloth bag instead plastic.
Regional Head of SPO Hyderabad Amjad Baloch Said Sindh covers total land in the area 140, 914 sq Km, he said recent flood has hit the people and thousands people were displaced from their house and they were living in open sky, the climate change brought multiple changes in our lives all of sudden, if we will not take a serious precaution in future we will suffer a lot. While he is sharing data he mentioned that Sindh covers a total land area of 140,914 Sq Km the effects of climate change Inadequate Insufficient infrastructure, such as embankments, flood protection structures, and reservoirs, can result in the inadequate management of floodwaters.
District Manager of Strengthening Participatory Organisation (SPO) Umerkot Shewaram suthar has said we are providing them moral support to strengthen community, he said we train the woman, girls and youth on gender based violence, kitchen gardening and other valuable tools, The community now able to earn their self by selling vegetable and fruits , he said we also trained them how to make Smoke free stove which also source of income . The SPO with the collaboration of NCA Organised a event on the occasion of world environment day at Sindh agriculture university Umerkot campus on Monday on the occasion Assistant commissioner Hunain Shahani, Suresh Malhi, Saleem Chang, Saroop Chand Malhi , Mir Hassan Arisar, Munesh Kumar, Dillep Sukhani and Representative of Faith in action for sustainable climate resilience were part of the event.
