The Pakistan Railway has closed down Jungshahi town of District Thatta’s railway station due to which thousands of Labourers face immense difficulties in travel.
Residents of Jungshahi Town held a meeting in this regard on Sunday in which the town’s prominent politician and social workers and trade unions participated and expressed their concerns over suspension of a railway station in their town. They demanded that Bahauddin Zakaria Multan Express stop at the town’s oldest train station.
Social worker Abdul Qadir Sheikh, president trade union of Jungshahi Ghulam Mustufa Khawaja and other trade union leaders, Rana Muhammad, Abdul Raoof Brohi and a huge number of citizens attended the meeting.
The trade leaders said that with the suspension of Jungshahi Train Station the people of the town face immense difficulties. In the current scenario there are important construction projects of CPEC, K-IV and of other multi national companies are underway due to which the mobility of laborers of the town is at an all time high. Due to the closure of the railway station thousands of workers of the town are unable to travel to different cities from Jungshahi railway station.
Not only this but for religious visits several devotees visit Multan from Jungshahi Railway Station from which the Pakistan Railway earns huge revenue. With the closure of the railway station thousands of workers, devotees and citizens of the District Thatta and District Sajawal face difficulties.
Several students who go to Karachi for education purposes also face difficulties in their travel, said one of the social workers of the town Abdul Qadir. He said that Bahauddin Zakaria Express from Multan used to make a stop at the town’s railway station for 25 years. With the sudden closure of the railway station, he said, thousands of travelers of the District Thatta and District Sajawal face difficulties.
