Karachi; Muttahida Workers Front CBA continues its protest against outsourcing of medical and tax department of Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation (KWSC).
After Head Office and Orangi Town today, Muttahida Workers Front CBA registered its strong protest in District Central Liaquatabad Division Four.
Irshad Khan Chairman of Muttahida Workers Front CBA, said that today’s demonstration is to warn the administration that if there is an attempt to outsource any sector including medical, we will be a leaden wall. It has proved that we do not accept the anti-labour decisions of the Sindh government.
He stated that MD should take decisions keeping in mind the interests of the workers and not on the will of the Sindh Government.
Our delegation met the MD and we were told that there is nothing like that, But when the committee for outsourcing was formed, we realized that something is wrong cure the corruption in medical, bring improvement, we are with you
But if you go towards outsourcing and privatisation, we will stand against you, he added.
Chairman warned management that their protests will continue until the arrears of the employees are not paid.
He asked the management that it is better to pay what you have decided to pay the employees 20 crores per month as dues, otherwise the scope of this protest will increase to such an extent that it will create problems for you.
He asked MD Syed Salahuddin that if he really want to bring some improvement in water corporation then stop payment on fake files of contractors. So that the dues of the employees can be paid, since 8 months, the employees have been struggling to get their dues.
Whereas, President Abdul Qayyum while talking to the protestors said that now it is the time that we have to fight against this heinous conspiracy of the administration. Today I also request all the unions of the organization to come and join together in the struggle with CBA against outsourcing and for the rights of the employees including the dues of the employees.
However, General Secretary Waseem Ibrahim told the protestors that the Muttahida Workers Front has always fought for the interests of the employees and will always continue to fight with your support,The administration has started eye contact with the medical sector and They pay for one hospital and close another.
They are getting their financial interests by mentally disturbing the employees, They want to get their financial interests by outsourcing the medical department, We will not allow medical and tax to be outsourced in any case, he added.
He told that In the name of reforms, officers are spending crores of rupees for their offices. So far in the financial year more than 6 Crores have been invested in the renovation and decoration of their rooms but the employees died without gey their funds.
A large number of officials and employees of District Central Liaquatabad participated in the protest.
