The Spokesperson of the Sindh Agriculture Department says that the production of mangoes will be twice a year not only in summer but also in winter in Sindh. Two varieties of mango have been successfully tested on one tree, one of which is an Australian variety and the other a Thai variety.
Director General Noor Muhammad Baloch of the Department of Agriculture said that the new varieties include Australia’s Exoboi Tang and Thailand’s Nimdukmai variety, while the perennial mango variety will bear fruit for 10 months of the year in addition to January and June. Mehran variety which will now produce in June and November.
Noor Muhammad Baloch further said that 156 mango trees have been planted in Mirpur Khas Horticulture Agricultural Farm with 92 varieties which have been developed in seven years. The spokesperson of Sindh Agriculture Department said that the weight of one mango is more than one kilogram and it will be different from other mangoes.
