Spokesperson of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation has warned those organizations who lay their underground installations in the city to refrain from digging the road and pavement within the remit of KMC without obtaining prior permission or they would themselves be held responsible for their loss.
The spokesperson said the municipal leadership has come to know this that the private cable operators association and Pakistan Telecommunication Limited were going to lay their installations underground, though this being a good step to maintain the beauty of the city and KMC fully support this, however any such work that involves digging of road and foot path should be carried out only after getting the prior permission from KMC.
No other civic body has this authority to issue this permission except for KMC. Legal action will be taken against those responsible for unlawful digging of road and pavement including seizure of stuff used in this.
