A new section of Lithotripsy inaugurated in KMC Institute of Kidney Diseases where a machine has been installed to break the kidney stone.

The machine worth Rs7.5 crore was out of order in the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital and has been shifted here after repairing with a cost of Rs1. 25 crore with the help of well off persons.
Mayor Karachi Wasim Akhtar inaugurated this section on Monday in the presence of Metropolitan Commissioner Dr Syed Saif ur Rehman, Chairman DMC Central Rehan Hashmi, chairperson health committee Naheed Fatima, Chairman parks committee Khurram Farhan, Chairman works committee Hasan Naqvi, Senior director medical services dr Salma Kausar other doctors.

Addressing the ceremony Mayor Karachi Wasim Akhtar said this is good news for people that now such an important facility is available in a kmc hospital. The machine was purchased in 2007 and got out of order in 2010.kmc could not make it repaired due to in availability of resources however now it has been installed here with the financial support of city well offs.

He asked the business and traders community to cooperate with kmc in providing such facilities in our hospitals. He said the federal and provincial budgets are made with major contributions from Karachi but still this city gets nothing in return.

Mayor Karachi said kmc spending much of its resources on health care sector to bring improvement in its performance. He praised the dr Daniyal and his team who worked really hard to make this possible.

He said doctors of kmdc not getting salary for four months and he had appealed to the chief minister for providing funds for it on which he agreed and approved the funding.

He thanked the chief minister of Sindh for this and said that the salaries of doctors will be paid in next few days.
Mayor Karachi expressed concern on increase crime rate in the city especially on the murder of many young doctors. He also condemned it.End
