KARACHI: On specific directions of Xth Additional District and Session Judge (South), Mr Shahid Memon, the XIIIth Civil Judge and Judicial Magistrate (CJ & JM), Abdul Sattar raided at Police Station (PS) Saddar and recovered a senior advocate Tehseen Manzoor Rajput on Tuesday.
Barrister Syed Jaffer Abbas Jafri filed a Habeas Corpus Petition (HCP) No. 695/2023 in which the counsel of the Detainee revealed that the Station House Officer (SHO) of PS Saddar, Khalid Memon, Police Inspector (PI), Muhammad Taufeeq, Additional SHO Zahoor Bhatti and two other policemen have allegedly detained and locked up a senior advocate Tehseen Manzoor Rajput without any First Information Report (FIR) even without any complaint as directed by SSP South illegally at PS Saddar since last night.
Police officials torturing, abusing, harassing, teasing and restraining him from his professional legal duties while they are pressurizing him not to proceed his cases as advised by police.
The CJ & JM South Mr Abdul Sattar raided at PS Saddar along with Petitioner Barrister Syed Jaffer Abbas Jafri and his other fellow advocates Jamshed Ali Khowaja Advocate, Barrister Habibullah Baloch, Mehmood Khan Advocate and found the said detainee in lockup but police completely failed to produced any FIR or any complaint against said detainee.
The concerned judge released the detainee and ordered all involved police culprits to come to court on Wednesday morning.
