Provincial Minister for Minorities Affairs Giyan Chand Essarani has said that the process of distribution of financial assistance cheques among the needy families/individual of the minority community on the eve of Diwali, should be completed by November 2 and directed to ensure that financial assistance cheques reached to deserving .

The Provincial Minister gave these instructions while presiding over an special meeting regarding Diwali in the Minorities Affairs Department on Monday. Secretary Minorities Affairs Department Hafiz Abdul Hadi Bullo , Director Minorities Affairs Sindh Abdul Shakoor Abro and other officials also attended the meeting.

Provincial Minister Giyan Chand Essarani added that cheques of financial assistance are being given on merit on the recommendations of Sindh Non-Muslim Welfare Committee.

He said that the welfare of the minority community was one of the top priorities of the Pakistan Peoples Party as the minority community has always given its mandate to the PPP.

On the occasion, the Provincial Minister also met with the people of the minority community and listened to their problems and assured them that their issues would be addressed on priority basis.
