The appointment of Munawwar Mallah as a Municipal Commissioner in the Town Municipal Corporation Safoora has raised questions on the efficiency of the Sindh Local Government Board.

According to the available official document, Munawwar Mallah joined the department in December 1995 .

While, in March 2011 he drew salary as UC Secretary BPS-07 from Union Council Quaidabad Bin Qasim Town.

On the other hand, according to the recent seniority list issued by the Sindh Local Government Board, the employee was promoted to Grade 16 on 27 December 2011 and promoted to grade 17 in January 2019.

Senior employees of the department stated that in 2012 and 2013, the Supreme Court of Pakistan had abolished out-of-turn promotions, then within a few months, the promotion from Grade 7 to 16 is raising questions about transparency in the Local Government Department.

The senior employees are worried and disappointed on such favors of the Sindh Local Government Board and they have demanded an immediate and transparent inquiry in thus matter from the Minister of Local Government Sindh.
