In observance of World Anti-Narcotics Day, a seminar was organized under the auspices of the Usman Public Schools System.

Rafia Javed Mallah, Additional Director Directoate of Inspection and Registration of Private Institutions Sindh, was the chief guest, while Muhammad Afzal Director General of Private Schools was the guest of honor.

Representatives from over 25 branches of Usman Public Schools attended the event.

In her address, Rafia Javed emphasized that the purpose of organizing this event on World Anti-Narcotics Day was to raise awareness and educate students about the dangers of drug use and the importance of prevention.

She warned that the insidious spread of drug addiction is gradually taking hold of educational institutions and, if left unchecked, could have disastrous consequences for our society and the younger generation.

She also informed the audience that the Government of Sindh has approved a comprehensive drug policy to eliminate drug use in educational institutions.

She highlighted the government’s serious commitment to addressing this issue through practical measures and stressed the importance of collective efforts to protect students and the new generation from this curse.

Furthermore, She mentioned that the Directorate of Private Schools has been actively organizing awareness programs in various educational institutions and plans to launch an intensive campaign against drug use after the summer vacations in 2024, This campaign will involve a series of initiatives designed to educate and engage students, parents, and teachers in the combat against drug addiction, ensuring a healthier and safer environment for all.

Chairman of the Fanos NGO has highlighted the struggle of Fanos in eradication of drug abuse.He told the forum about the challenges his organisation has faced and requested government to support his agenda for the noble cause.

Whereas Sohail Saeed also emphasised the role of teachers and parents in checking on their children.

However Intisar Ahmed Director Usman school system has thanked and welcomed all distinguished guests and performed the comparing.
