The Electrical Engineering Department of NED University of Engineering & Technology hosted its highly anticipated Final Year Design Project (FYDP) Exhibition 2025. The event brought together graduating students, faculty, industry professionals, and distinguished guests to celebrate the culmination of innovative academic research and practical engineering design.
The exhibition began with a formal opening ceremony, including remarks by the Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Tufail, Dean (ECE) Prof. Dr. Saad Ahmed Qazi, and Chairperson of the Electrical Department. Prof. Dr. Ataullah Khawaja.
The core of the event featured more than a fifty final year projects developed by undergraduate students across key domains such as power systems, renewable energy, embedded systems, signal processing, industrial automation, and artificial intelligence. These projects addressed practical challenges in the energy, environment, and automation sectors and reflected the students’ readiness to contribute to industry and research.
In the afternoon session, Engr. Amjad Ahmed, a senior professional engineer with over three decades of international experience presented a notable invited talk. His insights into global engineering practices, project execution, and plant maintenance resonated strongly with the student audience.
This was followed by an address from Mr. Nazir Ahmed Vaid, who emphasized the importance of innovation and entrepreneurship in today’s engineering landscape.
A highlight of the event was the recognition of the NED student team for securing the 2nd runner-up position at EPIC 2025, organized by K-Electric.
The exhibition concluded with a vote of thanks, presentation of certificates to the winners and mementos to the guests.
The FYDP Exhibition 2025 not only showcased the academic and technical achievements of the graduating batch but also reinforced the department’s commitment to industry relevance and research excellence.
