The Sindh government has also decided to eliminate physical fitness checks upon the transfer of used vehicles and to launch software for online vehicle transfers.
A meeting was convened in Karachi, chaired by Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon. Present at the meeting were Secretary of Excise, Taxation, and Narcotics, Atif ur Rehman, DG Excise Aurangzeb Panhwar, and a delegation from the Automotive Traders and Importers Association.
During the meeting, there was also discussion about eliminating redtapism in the vehicle transfer process.
During the meeting, the association members provided Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon with detailed information about the challenges encountered in vehicle registration, physical fitness checks, and other related issues.
The meeting also entailed a comprehensive discussion on the current and backlog issues concerning both private and commercial vehicles, new vehicle registrations, and the implementation of modern procedures to transition the transfer system online.
On this occasion, Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon assured the traders of an immediate resolution to their issues.
He said that the office paperwork for vehicle transfers will continue for now, but it will soon be eliminated, with the inclusion of all stakeholders traders’ issues will be resolved on priority basis.
Sharjeel Inam Memon emphasized that traders, especially those in Karachi, hold a significant position in the country’s economy, and the Sindh government has consistently prioritized resolving their issues.
He mentioned that other issues faced by traders, such as challenges with vehicle registration, will also be addressed promptly.
He assured that due to the Red Line BRT project, traders will not encounter any difficulties, as relevant instructions have already been issued in this regard.
Sajjad Bhatti, Airaaf Pracha, Muhammad Akbar, Abdul Rahim, Amjad Aqil, and Ijaz Ahmed were among the delegation representing the Automotive Traders and Importers Association in the meeting.- PR
