Circle Women is a social entrepreneurship venture working to impart digital literacy and subsequently financial and economic empowerment among women from low-income families. Amongst one of Circle’s key initiatives is the Digital Literacy Project helmed with support from L’Oreal Fund for Women.
The one-of-a-kind program trains women on digital skills including but not limited to social media and digital platforms and tools. The holistically designed program also inculcates awareness on life skills amongst the participating women, which are pivotal to development of interpersonal growth and competence.
Circle Women is the only social entrepreneurship association across the country to have partner up with L’Oreal Fund for Women, drawn upon the UN Sustainable Development Goals 5, 8 and 17, the program aims to train 100,000 women by the year 2025, across Pakistan with the use of technology and digital tools.
Under the program, initiated in 2020, up until now over 800 women have been trained to put their digital skills to expand and scale up their businesses while simultaneously earning livelihood for their families. The trainings have been conducted across provinces including Quetta, Peshawar and Bahawalpur.
Through the Digital Literacy Program, Circle aims to bridge the technological barriers women face towards their financial advancement and growth.
