The Young Doctors Association (YDA) at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC) staged a protest in front of the Urology Ward, demanding a fair and transparent process for ward allotments to House Officers.

Led by Dr. Muhammad Ali, Spokesperson, and Dr. Mehran Shar, Vice Chairman, the YDA expressed strong concerns over the recent ward allotment interviews, alleging bias and favoritism in the selection process.

They demanded that the interviews be reconducted by a merit-based committee comprising senior faculty members to ensure fair and equitable allotments.

Furthermore, the YDA Spokesperson demanded the immediate release of the inquiry report and disciplinary action against the Head of the Department (HOD) of Urology for alleged harassment of a female doctor.

The protest also highlighted the issue of delayed stipends for House Officers and Postgraduate Trainees. The YDA urged administration to release the pending payments without further delay.

Further, YDA warned that if their demands are not met, they will escalate their protest to a general OPD boycott.
