Karachi: Secretary Karachi Development Authority (KDA) on Wednesday issued Explanation letter to twelve officers who were found absent from their seats and duties.

According to letter No. PA/Secy/KDA/2023/120/L with the subject of Explanation , Secretary KDA Syed Khalid Zafar Hashmi has showed his displeasure over the absence of officers and directed them to explain their position within two days as to why disciplinary action should not be taken against them according to standing E&D rules.

It was mentioned in the said letter that, Member Admin KDA alongwith Secretary KDA on Tuesday 21st February 2023 paid surprise visit of all departments/branches of KDA where following officers found absent from their seats: 1. Abdul Mutalib Manan S.E in Engineering Department, 2. Raza Hussain Executive Engineer in Traffic Engineering Bureau, 3. Amir Zaka Additional Director in Traffic Engineering Bureau, 4. Muhammad Nadeem Additional Director in Recoveries Department, 5. Alam Amrohi Additional Director in Recoveries Department, 6. Rashid Ayub AEE in Department of Planning & Urban Design, 7. Humayun Aziz Superintendent in Traffic Engineering Bureau, 8. Ashkar Jilani Assistant Director in Recoveries Department, 9. Munib Rahat Assistant Director in Recoveries Department, 10. Imran Ali ADO in Department of Planning and Urban Design, 11. Moula Bux Superintendent in Secretariat, 12. Ms. Maira Azeem AS (IRC) in Secretariat.

It was learned that, The KDA Secretariat on 15th February 2023 also issued a letter to all officials of department for ensuring attendance and punctuality in office timing from 09:00 Am to 5:00 Pm , but large number of officers including employees of KDA are not following the office timing.

Daily City News Correspondent observed that, KDA is facing financial crisis from many years but some officers including employees are reportedly busy in taking bribe for the approval of different public documentation.
