KARACHI: A 16-year-old domestic help was found unconscious and passed away during her subsequent treatment at a local hospital in Gulshan-e-Iqbal on Tuesday. The teenager was employed as a maid at a home in Block 13D.
As per details, she went to work as usual on Sunday but returned home in an unstable state. Her employer dropped the maid at her residence in his car in a critical condition drove away.
The family rushed her to a private hospital in Gulshan-e-Iqbal, where doctors referred her to the JPMC due to her critical condition. She was shifted to the JPMC where she died during the course of treatment.
Relatives of the victim allege that the bungalow owners were not at home on the day of the incident. Their young sons were at home who might have subjected the victim to torture before poisoning her to death, the relatives allege. Lady Police Surgeon Dr Samia has said that the exact circumstances surrounding her death will be revealed after the autopsy report.
