Sindh Govt promoting youth through healthy activities

Commissioner Karachi Syed Hasan Naqvi inaugurated the Youth Gala Festival today, while renowned singer Shehzad Roy inaugurated the calligraphy competition. The event was attended by Member Provincial Assembly and Parliamentary Secretary for Sports and Youth Affairs Saima Agha, Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Abdul Aleem Lashari, Director Sports Imdad Abro, and other officials.

 

As per the guidance of Provincial Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Sardar Muhammad Bakhsh Khan Mahar, secretary Abdul Aleem Lashari has organised the event which features various activities, competitions, and performances aimed at promoting the constructive and creative talents of Sindh’s youth. Through such initiative, the department makes efforts to nurture youth capabilities, said the Secretary.

 

The Commissioner officially opened the festival with the inaugural ceremony of the Youth Gala, followed by competitions in sports such as tug-of-war, badminton, table tennis, taekwondo, snooker, carrom board, chess, arm wrestling, calligraphy, painting, debates, and poetry.

 

Speaking to the media, Commissioner Karachi Syed Hasan Naqvi highlighted how such sports activities enhance the physical capabilities of the youth and said that such activities promoting the constructive and creative abilities of youth are commendable.

 

He also mentioned that cultural enthusiasts can enjoy a grand poetry session, theater performances, and competitions in calligraphy and painting, showcasing the talents of Sindh’s youth.

 

The Commissioner announced that the his office will organize four additional programs for the youth at this venue and will fully support the establishment of a library in the available space.

 

Secretary Sports Abdul Aleem Lashari, while addressing the media, stated that the Youth Festival includes practical workshops like photography, introductory e-commerce training, and guidance sessions for the youth.

 

All activities will continue on the second day, including a musical night featuring Qawwali by Majeed Ali Sabri.

 

Parliamentary Secretary Saima Agha emphasized that the event offers something for everyone across its various halls and stages—whether it’s learning the art of storytelling, exploring paths to leadership, or simply enjoying the performances.

 

The Youth Gala will conclude on Sunday evening with a panel discussion on “Youth Issues and Opportunities” and a musical night featuring Muhammad Zubair and Farzana Bahar. This unforgettable three-day celebration by the Sindh Government, honoring the creativity, determination, and potential of Sindh’s youth, is free of cost and open to all.
