According to the Director-Anti Quackery, Sindh Healthcare Commission (SHCC), a special task force is working in joint collaboration with District Government Officials to seal illegal clinics in and around Khairpur District.
In this regard, Deputy Commissioner office in District Khairpur joined hands with SHCC to take action against Quacks under section U/S 39-g(h) of the SHCC Regulations 2017.
As per law , SHCC has the legal mandate to take actions against ‘quackery ‘ across the province.
Over 80 illegal healthcare establishments were identified during spot checks conducted by SHCC and DC khairpur office teams, where 35 clinics were sealed on the spot.
However Director Anti-Quackery ( SHCC) Syed Zeeshan A Shah stated on the occasion that ,‘Preventive measures must be taken’ and Strict warnings were issued to 25 healthcare establishments ( HCE’s) to comply with legal requirements.
Moreover, 22 clinics were found to be in-compliance with the law under SHCC Act 2013, he added.
Whereas he informed, Effective actions were taken in 4 sub-divisions of Khairpur District, including Kingri, Thari Mirwah, Sobho Dero and Khairpur itself.
One of the success factors of this operation was the positive support provided to SHCC by Deputy Commissioner Dr. Sharjeel Noor and his team of officers, he said Further he told, To reduce the potential risk of HIV, Dengue, Malaria and other diseases in flood affected areas, such joint Anti-Quackery efforts will continue against ‘Quacks’. Moreover Director Anti Quackery said, Role of positive media to help SHCC identify illegal establishments is another important factor in the success of Anti-Quackery operations.
