On the call of the Municipal Workers Trade Unions Alliance, a strong protest was held at the Saddar Town Office and the Chairman’s Office against the non-payment of salaries of Saddar Town employees and the non-posting of the Municipal Commissioner.
The protest held under the leadership of President Municipal Workers Trade Unions Alliance Syed Zulfikar Shah.
The protestors circled around the town office and also protested at the chairman’s office located in Click Office.
On this occasion, Chief Accounts Officer of Saddar town, Naeem Yousufi, negotiated with the protesters and assured them that the salaries would be paid in the next day, if the salaries were not paid, the employees would be right to protest.
On this occasion, Syed Zulfikar Shah said that the employees from Solid Waste and other sectors are deprived of one month’s salary.
While the Municipal Commissioner has been suspended by the Chief Secretary Sindh and no other officer has been appointed, creating an administrative crisis. Therefore, a municipal commissioner should be appointed to pay the salaries immediately.
The protest was postponed till Wednesday on the assurance of payment of salary in the next day.
Shahnawaz, Ghulam Hussain Shah, Abdul Hameed, Abbas Ahmed, Rehan Qazi, Ibrahim Yameen and others also spoke on this occasion.
