Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi, Munim Zafar Khan, has said that employees are the backbone of any institution, and just as it is the duty of the institution to protect their legitimate rights, it is also the responsibility of employees to contribute diligently towards institutional progress.
He revealed that more than Rs 75 million in outstanding dues are being disbursed in a single day to retired employees and the families of those who have passed away. These payments include dues of over 50 deceased employees from 2017 to 2023, as well as several retirees since 2013.
He emphasized that this effort is a testament to Jamaat-e-Islami’s commitment to supporting distressed and helpless employees and their families. Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman had issued clear instructions from the outset to all town chairmen to ensure the immediate disbursement of dues to the families of retired and deceased employees to ease their hardships.
It is a matter of great satisfaction that Landhi Town, in a short period, has paid more than Rs 110 million in dues under this initiative.
Additionally, 75% of dues owed to 2018 ad-hoc employees have already been paid, and work on the remaining 25% is nearing completion.
On this occasion, Landhi Town Chairman Abdul Jameel Khan reiterated that under his leadership, all employees — whether currently serving, retired, or deceased — will receive their rightful dues, and their problems will be resolved on a priority basis.
Municipal Commissioner Ibrahim Umrani assured that despite the institution’s financial constraints, every effort is being made to ensure the timely payment of employees’ dues.
Vice Chairman Muhammad Imran also stated that the administration is fully aware of the issues faced by employees and remains available at all times to work toward resolving them.
