KARACHI: Lawyers’ strike against the ‘behaviour’ of Sessions Judge Malir has led to a discussion between SHC Chief Justice Ahmed Ali M. Shaikh and leaders of the lawyers’ body after which the lawyers announced to end their strike and the sit-in.

The chief justice will visit Malir Court on May 26, lawyer leadership said and quoted that CJ will review all the issues. An attorney and the secretary of the Sindh High Court Bar Association (SHCBA), Amir Nawaz Warraich, told Daily City News  that he met the chief justice.

President High Court Bar Salim Magrio, Secretary Sindh Bar Association Amir Nawaz Warraich, President Malir Court Bar Association, and other leaders of the bar attended the meeting. The Chief Justice will visit Malir Court on Friday to review the situation.

Meanwhile, the president and secretary of the lawyers’ body expressed their sorrow over the demise of Arshad Siddiqui, an attorney, whose health deteriorated during the sit-in. The Malir Bar Association (MBA) has been on strike for the past 13 days in protest against the behaviour of the judge.

The SBC has demanded the transfer of the judge.
