Mohsin KaimKhani Director Billing – Revenue Resource Generation (RRG) of Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB) stated that on the directives of CEO KWSB Engr. Syed Salahuddin Ahmed and DMD RRG Muhammad Saqib the billing department is efficiently working to generate more revenue to get the department more financially stable.

While speaking about the steps which he is taking to generate revenue he told that all the directors of concerned areas have been asked to verify the addresses of 4.5 lac KWSB consumers in the city who have not ever paid the bill.
The concerned areas directors have now verified all the 4.5 lac non payee addresses and it will now further sent to CEO who will expectedly share the details with relevant Deputy Commissioners/ Assistant Commissioner to start legal action against them, he added.

However, he informed that for the ease of non-payee consumers he has forwarded a proposal to management for approval of 30 percent discount scheme for those who will pay full dues.

Whereas, Mr. Mohsin said that for the first time in the history of KWSB he has given a proposal to management to allow 20 percent discount to those consumers who will pay whole year bill in advance, this step will encourage citizens to pay kwsb bill on time.

On the other hand, it was learned that there are almost 12.5 lac total consumers of KWSB which includes 10,500 bulk/commercial consumers from which approximately only 3.40 lac are those consumers who pay their bills.
According to source there are more than 24 Billion 24,82,57,5444 rupees due on the consumers of KWSB if the department would be successful to get the payment of dues then it would be more financially stable and will be able to pay the longstanding dues of retired employees.
