Karachi : The Baldia police conducted a successful targeted raid on a Gutka Mawa factory of gutka dealer Kashif alias Mulla, located in Junagadh area of Baldia Town.

According to the SSP District Keamari Police Fida Hussain Janwari, the police received a secret tip off about the producing of unhealthy gutka mawa worth millions everyday in a residential house in Baldia Town.

On the above information, the police team led by SHO Baldia Police Station Sub Inspector Adeel Ahmed raided the factory and two suspects named Farhan and Muhammad Umair, who were producing gutka mawa, were arrested.

During the raid, the police confiscated more than 400 kg of gutka and various ingredients used in its production.

The seizure included a significant quantity of harmful substances, such as 1000 pieces of gutka mawa in 50 packets, cut leaves, packing wrappers, 30 kg powder, 20 kg tobacco,13 kg of sage chemical powder, 20 kg of tobacco, Two digital forks, drums, buckets, tubs and baskets were recovered.

The operation also resulted in the arrest of two suspects who were allegedly involved in the illegal manufacturing and distribution of gutka.

The arrested suspects have been booked under relevant laws, and an investigation is currently underway to determine the extent of their involvement and any other individuals or networks associated with the illegal gutka production.

The raid and subsequent seizure serve as a significant blow to the gutka manufacturing industry, which poses serious health risks to consumers due to its harmful ingredients.
