The Karachi Development Authority (KDA) is allegedly facing a financial crisis due to the prolonged vacancy of crucial positions in its revenue-generating departments.
The posts of Additional Directors for the Commercial Branch in Land Department and Surjani Town in Recovery Department have remained unfilled for the past few months, leading to a significant decline in tax recovery.
Sources indicate that the suspension of Additional Director of the Commercial Branch, Muhammad Alam, has not been followed by a replacement.
Similarly, the Additional Director of Recovery in Surjani Town retired, leaving that position vacant for an extended period.
Furthermore, reportedly the Superintendent post in the Industrial Branch also remains unfilled.
The absence of officers in these critical roles is not only impacting financial matters but also hindering administrative efficiency.
If this situation persists, the KDA could face a severe revenue generation crisis.
The fact that these posts remain vacant after three months raises serious concerns.
In light of this situation, The Provincial Minister Local Government and Director General KDA should have to take immediate action and ensure the prompt appointment of officers to these vital departments.
