Secretary Local Government Sindh Roshan Ali Shaikh has instructed to accelerate the garbage collection process.

Speaking to MD Solid waste Management Board, DCs & Municipal Commissioners on a video link conference, Mr. Roshan said that government of Sind is working extensively to provide continued relief to its citizens and for this purpose the practice of garbage collection and its dumping hasn’t been stopped since the first day of lock down.

Secretary Local Government stated that all the staff and workers of solid waste management board must perform their duties as usual as any sort of negligence and delay wouldn’t be tolerated.

Expressing his views about the of Hygiene of People, Secretary said,“The lives of people are precious to us and we cannot take any risk on their health. All the Municipal Commissioners, Town officers and Concerned DCs have been instructed to monitor the garbage collection activities regularly”.Mr. Shaikh also shared the concerns of Minister Local Government for the matter.

“The Minster Local Government is personally monitoring the garbage collection and dumping activities as he is aimed to make Sind, the cleanest province of the country”.

Secretary Local government added that due to the continuous efforts of the local government department, the garbage situation hasn’t become worst around and things are normal.
