District Administration East taking effective initiatives to save future generations from tobacco use hazards, Babar Nizamani ADC II East
Karachi: Babar Nizamani Additional Deputy Commissioner II/Head Tobacco Control Cell District East chaired a meeting of District Implementation and Monitoring Committee (DIMC) for tobacco control held on Wednesday at Office of The Deputy Commissioner East Karachi.
The DIMC meeting was attended by the officials from Police, Traffic Police, DMC East, Auqaf , DG Colleges, DEO Primary/ Secondary East, KDA including other district departments.
The meeting was held to discuss about the overall situation of Tobacco Control laws compliance in the district and activities of district departments also reviewed regarding Tobacco Control laws enforcement in respective district departments.
It was learned that, The District Implementation and Monitoring Committee for Tobacco Control laws compliance notified under the chair of ADC II East , all the district departments are members of this DIMC.
While sharing views Babar Nizamani stated that the District Administration East is taking various initiatives to make District East a Tobacco Smoke free Model District.
He said that enforcement of tobacco control laws is only possible by the support of all District departments.
Additional Deputy Commissioner II East also asked all departments to play their role in saving future generations from the deadly impacts of tobacco use on human health.
We have to save our future generations from the hazards of tobacco use through promoting health activities, he added.
However, at last all the officials of district departments assured the support of their respective departments for the strict enforcement of tobacco control laws in District East.
