KDA Employees Union demanded management for the closure of Karachi Development Authority Offices due to the threat of COVID – 19 spread, which has declared pandemic.

An Emergency Session of KDA Employees Union held on Thursday at Civic Center Karachi Patron in Chief Navaid Anwer and Spokesman Abdul Maroof stated that Chief Secretary Sindh issued a letter for the closure of government departments on the orders of Chief Minister Sindh in which the name of Karachi Development Authority not mentioned.

Navaid Anwer urged top officials of Sindh Government and the Management of KDA to close the department for the safety of employees from Coronavirus.

Moreover he shared that , As Different Public and Private department’s offices are located in civic center Karachi in which more than 8 thousand people perform their duties and the department not comes under essential services as we are not performing duties for the cleaning or rescue in city.

Employees Union Patron in Chief rasied question from the management that if the coronavirus spread in civic center then who would be responsible?

Further he demanded that the management should convert all lifts into Auto Mode and surgical tape should be pasted on the buttons of lift.

Employees Union Office bearers and members urged Chief Minister Sindh and DG KDA Dr. Saif ur Rehman to announce for the closure of department for the safety of workers.
