Chairman of Town Municipal Corporation (TMC) Safoora Rashid Khaskheli has taken decisive action against the poor performance of various departments.
Following Chairman Rashid Khaskheli’s directives, Municipal Commissioner of Safoora Town Imtiaz Hussain Magsi has dismissed 11 employees, including the Director of the Land Department and 8 employees, including the Deputy Director of the Advertisement Department, for their poor performance and failure to recover taxes.
They have been instructed to report to the Director of HRM and have been strictly warned that if they are seen working in the field, action will be taken against them under the E&E Rules.
Chairman Rashid Khaskheli had indicated during a meeting with officers the previous day that it is time to dismiss department’s officers who could not work for the betterment of Safoora Town and this process has now begun .
He stated that local taxes are the backbone of Safoora Town’s development, but despite repeated warnings, performance had not improved forcing them to take strict measures.
He emphasized that if other departments do not improve their performance, they will face severe consequences.
Funds are needed to improve Safoora Town, which can only be obtained from the local taxes department, he added.
Currently, action has been taken against two key local taxes departments.
He hinted that, If this does not lead to improvement, further actions will be taken, and Safoora Town will be transformed from better to best in a matter of days, not months, he told .
Further Chairman informed that we will take all possible measures to achieve the goal to make Safoora a Model Town of Karachi City.
