The Young Doctors Association (YDA) JPMC in a press statement strongly condemned the alleged harassment of a female resident urologist by the Head of Department (HOD) Urology on December 7, 2024.
Chairman YDA Sindh Dr Mehboob Noonari demanded an immediate high-level inquiry into this incident and appeal to the Chief Minister of Sindh, the Health Minister, Madam Dr. Azra Pechucho, and the Health Secretary, to take strict action against the perpetrator.
Dr Mehboob stated that YDA JPMC will not tolerate any form of harassment or misconduct within the medical community.
We stand in solidarity with our female colleagues and demand a safe and respectful work environment for all, he added.
However he urged to the authorities to Conduct a thorough and impartial inquiry into the allegations of harassment and submit a report within a stipulated timeframe and Take strict disciplinary action against the perpetrator if found guilty.
