Karachi : An important meeting regarding rain emergency arrangements was held presided by the Administrator DMC Keamari Pir Shaukat Ali Shah and Municipal Commissioner Keamari Mr. Salik Ahmed Bhutto.
The meeting was attended by the officers of all departments, during the meeting administrator discussed the measures, preparations, and arrangements regarding the expected rain in District Keamari, especially the cleaning of drains, choked points, main highways, and all the low-lying areas of DMC Keamari.
In the meeting, the administrator said that measures should be taken for a permanent solution from where rainwater has been accumulating in the past. As some areas are low-lying, pumps and other facilities should be provided on an emergency basis.
The municipal commissioner while briefing the administrator has said that concrete measures are being taken under the comprehensive plan at the municipal level to prevent the situation from arising as a result of the expected rains and to save the public from difficulties during the rains. Therefore, our top priorities include cleaning storm drains to ensure timely and uninterrupted drainage of rainwater.
Administrator Municipality Keamari expressed satisfaction with the advance arrangements regarding the rains and ordered the concerned institutions to be on alert.
