The Landhi Town administration has presented a budget worth Rs 3.573 billion for the upcoming fiscal year, declaring a surplus of Rs 167.48 million. According to the budget estimates, revenue from various government sources is projected at Rs 3.055 billion, while the town’s own revenue sources are expected to contribute Rs 218 million.
On the expenditure side, total spending has been estimated at Rs 3.741 billion. This includes Rs 1.929 billion allocated for contingencies, Rs 699.8 million for repair and maintenance, Rs 624.1 million for development expenses, and Rs 2.224 billion earmarked for salaries.
Speaking at the budget session, Landhi Town Chairman Abdul Jameel Khan highlighted that the administration has managed to clear long-pending dues of employees from its own revenue resources. He urged the Sindh government to ensure that the Water Board is held accountable for fair water distribution, warning that the board’s inefficiency is creating law and order risks in the area.
He further announced that the town will gift citizens with new parks in the next fiscal year. Additionally, work has already begun on the installation of water pipelines in five union councils simultaneously as part of efforts to ensure fair water distribution through self-help initiatives.
