In a proud moment for public healthcare education, Qatar College of Nursing in Karachi’s Orangi Town held a passing out ceremony for its first-ever Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) batch 2021-2025. A total of 27 students successfully completed the rigorous four-year degree program and were honored in a heartfelt event attended by faculty, government representatives, and community leaders.

The success of this milestone reflects the significant contributions of the Government of Sindh and the Ministry of Health, whose efforts to upgrade nursing education and expand access to degree programs have transformed opportunities for students from underserved areas.

Chief Guest Prof. Alia Nasir praised the achievement, saying, “This is proof that when leadership, faculty, and government support align, meaningful progress is possible even in the most marginalized areas.” She encouraged the graduates to remain lifelong learners in the service of humanity.

Former Director of Nursing Sindh, Mr. Shabbir Hussain Jhatial, celebrated the decision to shift from diploma to degree-level nursing education, crediting the Sindh Health Department’s vision and institutional reforms. He applauded Principal Rubina Sharqi for her strong leadership and ability to uplift every institution she has led.

Supreme Court lawyer Hakim Ali Shar, speaking as guest of honor, emphasized the growing leadership of women in both law and nursing and invited the graduates to engage in social welfare and legal advocacy.

Principal Mrs. Rubina Sharqi thanked the government, faculty, and staff for making this success possible. “With limited resources but great commitment, we achieved something historic. Our students are the future of Pakistan’s healthcare,” she said.

A graduate from Qatar College shared her journey, saying “Before joining, quality education seemed unreachable. But Qatar College, with government support, gave us knowledge, skills, and confidence. I now plan to pursue higher education and serve rural healthcare needs.”

The event featured student-led cultural performances, tribute videos, and role plays, transforming the college atmosphere into a celebration of success. Faculty and guests were presented with commemorative gifts, and the ceremony ended with a luncheon.

Founded under the Government of Sindh at Qatar Hospital, the college continues to serve Karachi’s low and middle income communities. With its first BSN graduates stepping into the field, the institution stands as a model for expanding healthcare education in Pakistan.
