The Director of Land Karachi Development Authority (KDA) on Thursday has formally requested the Director General (DG) KDA to suspend eight officers amid ongoing investigations into alleged land irregularities.
The suspensions are recommended as part of inquiries into suspected mismanagement and illegal allocations of plots in various areas of Karachi.
Whereas the Director land has also asked DG KDA to restrict the said officials from entering KDA premises until the investigations are concluded.
According to an official letter, issued on Thursday frothe investigations focus on multiple land-related matters, including Plot No. A-176, Block-2, KDA Scheme-36 (Gulistan-e-Jauhar), industrial plots, and residential quarters in Sector-36-D, Landhi Township. Another major probe concerns Industrial Plot No. 147, being investigated under the orders of the Honourable Fourth Additional Sessions Judge, East.
The officers recommended for suspension include Muhammad Kamran (Additional Director), linked to multiple plots in Korangi, Surjani, Clifton, and other areas; Arif Hussain Naqvi (Additional Director), associated with Plot No. A-176, Block-2, Scheme-36; and Mairaj Ahmed (Additional Director), involved in Plot No. 147, Sector-27, Karachi. Additionally, Usman Wasay (Assistant Director) is under scrutiny for his role in Plot No. A-176, Block-2, Scheme-36, while Syed Kawish Husain Naqvi (Assistant Director) is being investigated for his connection to SB-32, SB-33, Sector-4-B, Surjani, and Plot No. ST-15/A, Sector-11-L, NKT.
Moreover, Haseeb Shaikh (Assistant Director) is allegedly linked to Plot No. A-1/1, Sector-36-B, and Quarters No. 8, 9, 10, 11, & 12 in Sector-36-D, Landhi Township. Osama (Assistant) is also named in relation to A-176, Block-2, Scheme-36, while Mrs. Andleeb (Junior Clerk) is associated with Bar-Code records.
The Director Land has recommended these suspensions to ensure a fair and transparent investigation. The KDA has reaffirmed its commitment to addressing corruption and ensuring accountability within the organization.
However, Further actions will be determined based on the findings of the ongoing inquiries.
