Karachi: Dysfunctional streetlights on main road from PCSIR Fuel Research Center towards Kiran Hospital Scheme 33 have become a major problem for residents of several societies including AF Garden, Karachi Bar Association Society, White House Garden, Sachal Goth and others of Sector 24/A Scheme 33 over the last few years, and the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation’s (KMC) Engineering department seems uninterested in repairing them.
It was learned that, The darkness has also allowed street crime to occur in the area and the ratio of street crimes are rising day by day specially near PCSIR Fuel Research Center road towards Karachi Bar Association Society and the road from Sachal Goth towards Khan Muhammad Goth where numbers of residents looted in darkness.
Neither the KMC or District Administration appears seriously interested in fixing the faults in dysfunctional streetlights and nothing has been done so far in this regard as the street lights have not been working for more than a year.
Residents of AF Garden, White House Society, Karachi Bar Association Society and Sachal Goth urged to Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab and Chairman TMC Safoora Rashid Khaskheli for fixing of dysfunctional street lights on main road from PCSIR Fuel Research Center towards Kiran Hospital Scheme 33.
