KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Education and Culture Syed Sardar Ali Shah stressed the need for a data mechanism to identify issues and formulate effective education policies.
He highlighted the challenges, faced due to the absence of an efficient data system, which hinders their understanding of problems and finding solutions.
The minister said this while speaking at a ceremony held to unveil student census report of private schools at the Arts Council of Pakistan, Karachi, on Thursday.
The availability of this data will help find out the number of children outside schools in the province and plan their enrollment.
He also mentioned that the student census will lead to the suspension of school registrations, which will resume now.
The student census report of private schools revealed that out of 12,809 private schools visited, 11,736 were functional, and 1,073 were non-functional.
