The team of Phool Patti, led by founder and creator Ali Salman Anchan, and his team members including lead artist Mumtaz Ahmad ,truck artists Muhammad Amin and Muhammad Gulriaz reached China upon the invitation of Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in Beijing, Silk Road International Arts Center- which is one of the leading art centers in the world.
Ali Salman Anchan and his team participated in the exhibition with an aim of introducing Chinese audience with the vibrant and colorful Truck Art of Pakistan.
Interestingly, Phool Patti is leading the debut Truck Art exhibition ,for the first time ever organized in a museum.
The exhibition was organized as a part of the “China-Pakistan Tourism Exchange Year”. It was co-organized by: Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Beijing , Silk Road International Arts Center and Curated by Yang Zhi Yang Hui.
Pakistan’s Ambassador to China Moin-ul-Haque deserves a special mention for offering valuable support in bringing Pakistan’s Truck Art to China.
The exhibition simultaneously presented works in different derivative forms of truck art, including isometric restoration of trucks, various vehicles, daily necessities, live murals and others, fully combining traditional and , modern materials and technologies, multimedia highlighting the characteristics and creativity of truck art. It also highlighted the characteristics and diversity of truck art, reflecting the charm of Pakistan’s traditional culture.
There are also a series of extended activities including live painting performances, workshops and lectures.
The exhibition was divided into five sections, “The Home Away From Home: A Unique Mobile Art Museum”, “From Traditional Transportation to Cultural Symbol: The Evolution of Pakistani Truck Art”, “The Inheritance of Truck Art: Architecture and Urban Landscape”, “The Intersection of Aesthetics and Functionality: A Translatable Art and Design System” and “New Perspective: Mapping the Truck Art in Multidimensional Space”. Each section explores the presentation of truck art in diverse artistic forms and contexts.
