Umerkot : Young Doctors Association (YDA) and Grand Health Alliance (GHA) called for OPD strike to regularize contract based hired covid doctors, as they are serving from day first in this pandamic.
YDA umerkot president Dr. Dalpat Singh Sodho appealing to concern authorities to take immediate action and do regularize them.General secretary Dr Dileep Malhi and all covid doctors of umerkot participated in protest in front of Eye Hospital Umerkot.
When asked, Dr Anil Dev expressed that, ‘we initially were hired on 3 months contract and then our contract was extended for 3 months more, still covid is not eradicated and there is possibility of second wave of covid in winter.’
Dr. Shanker Mathrani said, salaries of covid doctors should be released as they put their lives and their families on high risk in this terrific situation.
Dr. Manoj stressed that many doctors, staff got covid positive also. At least govt of sindh should take immediate step for all those front line worriers.
Dr. Gulab also demanded that there is shortage of doctors in all over the Sindh, particularly in Umerkot there is dire need to create a space for doctors.
When approached to District Health Officer, Dr Arjun Maheswari on phone call, he said legal demands should be endorsed being district officer, ‘I hope health department of Sindh Government will take action sooner than later.’
