Residents of Khan Muhammad Khaskheli village Union Council Mohidan of Kohistani are expostulated due to the shortage of water supply.
Administration has promised many times to provide water but fell to make that true so cause of that women fetch water from Hab Drain completing distance of 4 Kilometers so in this regards 2 women drowned into Hab Drain and died.
In this respect it has been reported that more than 8 women approached at Hab Drain for water early in the morning of yesterday where 2 women 25 year old Makhan W/O Umar Khaskheli and 14 year old D/O Razzaq Khaskheli slipped and drowned into drain where women tried to rescue them who were present there but then they reached crying at nearest village after their failure from where people of Khan Muhammad Khaskheli village were informed about the incident.
Heirs taken out dead bodies from Hab drain and lament occurred at said village on the arrival of dead body. Dead bodies were buried after iftar party at local cemetery.
On that occasion area’s social worker and leader of Social Salal welfare Waheed Sikandar Chuto talked with media men and said that Khan Muhammad village is a village where 4 children had died due to the pollute water a year ago where DCK chairman Salman Abdullah Murad, district councillor Haji Ali Ahmed Jokhio and other officers approached the incident place and promised in November 2019 to provide water to Khan Muhammad Khaskheli and other villages but that promise has not been completed yet.
Habitants of village Umar Khaskheli, Razzaq Khaskheli, Nawaz Khaskheli and others said that they are bereft from all fundamental facilities in the modern age like water and others facilities and are coerced to survive animal’s lives. They further said that they go for labour and their women and daughters go to fetch water from far and wide areas, this is only a reason that yesterday woman and daughter drowned into Hab Drain and died.
Habitants demanded from Sindh Government to take notice of local government departments and elected representative’s performance also make feasible the supply of water to their villages so that they can not face such type of incidents again…
