Steel Town police raided on vegetable and fruit sellers and remove their stalls which were set up at thickly populated area Gulshan e Hadeed led by Secretary of Gulshan e Hadeed Welfare Committee Khadim Khokher here on yesterday.
Vegetable and fruits sellers agitated against Police victimisation and hailed slogans after that police arrested 5 vegetable sellers namely Raja, Altaf, Saeed Ali Mirani, Abbas Malah, Ubaid Sheikh and locked up them.
On the report arrested vegetable sellers heirs and other vegetable sellers approached PS Steel Town and controlled over police station and raised strict slogans on what police came in out rage and had lathi charge on them also fired cause of what one vegetable seller Fayaz Mirani became seriously injured who was sent hospital immediately in critical condition.
Vegetable and fruits sellers and others reached at national highway after PS Steel Town and expostulated also sat down cause of that traffic was jammed from the both directions of road.
On the other side SSP Malir, DSP Bin Qasim and other officers came at and had negotiation with demonstrators and assured them to have inquiry of matter and provide them justice.
Vegetable sellers said that they sell vegetables and fruits to earn bread and butter of their family members but so called committee of Gulshan e Hadeed and Steel Town police torture and violate them daily for extortion.
They further said that if they refuse to pay extortion then police arrest them and disparage also raze their vegetable and fruits stalls in order to give the loss of lacs.
