Abid Qamar Shaikh Assistant Commissioner General to Commissioner Karachi along with Umamah Solangi ADC-II/Head Tobacco Control Cell District East Karachi, Dr Samra Mazhar Director Tobacco Control Ministry of NHSRC, Dr Jamil Mughal DHO East, Muhammad Aftab Project Manager Tobacco Smoke Free Cities Ministry of National Health Services Regulation and Coordination (NHSRC),Dr Ali Asghar Incharge Sindh Government Hospital PIB, Bilal Zafar Coordinator Tobacco Control District East Karachi, Khurram Hashmi Technical Advisor The Union including other officials inaugurated Tobacco Cessation Clinic established in Sindh Government Hospital PIB District East Karachi.
Speaking on the occasion Dr Jamil Mughal DHO East stated that the Tobacco Cessation Clinic aimed to help those who want to Quit smoking.
However, Dr Samra said it is a tremendous achievement of District Administration and DHO East Office for establishing Tobacco Cessation Clinic as it is the first Government level Cessation clinic in Karachi City which will help all Karachiites who want to quit the habit of smoking.
Whereas Abid Qamar Shaikh informed District Health Officer (DHO) East and Sindh Government Hospital PIB management that Commissioner Karachi Office is supporting this initiative of Tobacco Smoke Free Karachi and would provide every possible support to this Cessation Clinic.
Moreover, Umamah Solangi said, The District Administration East is taking all possible measures to make district east a Tobacco Smoke-Free model district, to save the lives of future generations from the hazards of tobacco use.
