Syed Ali Haider Zaidi Federal Minister for Maritime Affair in a letter to Chief Secretary Sindh urged for immediate action against Police brutality in PS -104 and NA-244 by Ijaz Khattak Station House Officer of Mehmoodabad Police Station.
PTI legislator claimed that as per information SHO Ijaz Khattak supporting extortion and drug mafia led by the UC Chairman.
In a letter to Chief Secretary dated 2nd July 2020, Federal Minister stated that he has received several complaints from the residents of Chanesar Goth, Mehmoodabad, Akhtar Colony, and Azam Basti regarding the unjust behavior of SHO Mehmoodabad Police Station of District East Karachi.
Moreover, he also asked Chief Secretary that the said office of Sindh Police also involve in lodging fake FIR’s against workers and members of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf on political grounds.
Ali Zaidi mentioned in a letter that “It is the foremost requirement that the police stations and its staff not used by the political forces for victimizing the innocent residents “.
