The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has mandated Quality Enhancement Cells (QEC) to conduct an Institutional Performance Evaluation (IPE) of the HEIs by a review panel composed of evaluators from within and outside of the university.

The QEC of Dow University of Health Sciences conducted HEC Self Institutional Performance Evaluation review visit from 24th May to 26th May, 2022.

The Review Panel consisted of Prof. Dr. Razak Mahar, Director QEC, Textile Institute of Pakistan, an experienced HEC evaluator, joined by Mr. Altamash Sheeraz, Director QEC- SMBB Medical University, Larkana. Prof. Rabia Bushra, Dow College of Pharmacy, Dr Khurram Pervaz, DIKIOHS and Dr Muhammad Bilal Azmi, Dow Medical College joined the team as internal evaluators. The review was facilitated by Ms. Sanam Soomro, Director QEC-DUHS and her team.

It was three days’ activity based on evaluation of documentation regarding governance, integrity, institutional resources, academic programs offered and their curricula, public disclosure & transparency, quality assurance and student support services at DUHS.

The evaluation team met with Deans, Principals, Directors and group of faculty and students in order to get direct feedback.

The team also visited DUHS facilities at both campuses including digital libraries, research laboratories, the newly built state of the art Dr.Asif Rahman Simulation Center, DUHS Incubation Center, hostels, auditoriums and the gymnasium.

At last, the review panel discussed their findings and recommendations in the exit meeting with Prof. Mohammed Saeed Quraishy, Vice Chancellor-DUHS, Prof. Nusrat Shah, Pro-VC, DUHS, Dr Ashar Afaq, Registrar-DUHS, Ms Sanam Soomro, Director QEC and Prof. Saba Sohail, Principal Dow Medical College.
