More than 30 Private Schools Registration in Karachi Suspended over violation

Registration of More than 30 Schools in the city suspended over violation of the Government of Sindh Orders, the department warned for strict action in case of schools opening till 13th March.

As on Sunday 2nd March , Presiding over the fourth meeting of the Taskforce on Coronavirus in Sindh, the chief minister in consultation with the task force members, particularly the doctors, decided to keep educational institutions closed till March 13. “This closure will help suspects kept in isolation to complete their quarantine period,” CM said.

Directorate of Private Institutions inspection team on the directives of Director General of Directorate of Inspection & Registration of Private Institutions Sindh Dr. Mansoob Hussain Siddiqui on Monday visited private schools in different areas of the city including Korangi, Landhi, Gulshan e Hadeed, Nazimabad, North Karachi to identify the private schools which were opened despite of the orders of Sindh Government for closure of schools to get safe people from the spread of Corona Virus.

A Press Statement issued by DG Private Institutions stated that, During the visit, inspection teams found more than 40 private schools were open despite of the provincial government announcement for the closure of schools till 13th March 2020.

Moreover, the inspection teams suspended the registration of more than 40 schools which they visited and found violating the orders of Sindh Government , Whereas the directorate has also forwarded request to Chairman Board of Secondary Education for appropriate action against the said schools.

However, the heads of said schools also called at DG Private Institutions Sindh Office on today at 2 pm, after which the directorate would decide for further action including cancellation of registration, seizure of property through the respective Deputy Commissioner.

As per the Press Release of the department , Iqbal Public School Bilal Colony, Tauheed Public School Korangi, Preston Grammar School Rizvia Society, Crescent School Memon Goth, New Generation Surjani Town, Al-Shams School Gulshan e Hadeed including numbers of schools registration were suspended by the inspection team of directorate on the spot.
