Chairman, Amun Taraqqi Party (ATP) Muhammad Faiq Shah has expressed grave concern over increasing ‘price-hike’, especially inability of the incumbent rulers to avert storm of food inflation in the country.

Faiq Shah while addressing workers here at the party’s central office on Thursday, said that the burgeoning ‘price-hike’ a cruelty and oppression imposed by incumbent rulers on poor masses, and struggle against it is a national obligation.

The ATP chairman emphasized that every citizen should raise their voice and political and social organisations jointly think about a alternative solution in order to avert a storm of ‘food inflation’.

Prices of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), electricity and essential food commodities are ‘sky-high’ in the country, he observed.

But, he added the oppressive segment is least bothered to pay attention to arrest the increasing prices of important daily use items.

Mr Shah expressed displeasure over withdrawal of subsidy from Utility Stores and imposed high prices of essentials.

Meanwhile, the ATP chairman while talking to a different delegation from Karachi said that the mass-scale damages during the recent torrential rains and previous calamities have raised serious concerns by the people of Karachi and rest of the Sindh province.

He asked to devise a proper plan to prevent huge losses from flash floods and heavy downpour.

Mr Shah claimed that the ATP is the voice of people from Khyber to Karachi, saying that the struggle for people rights would be sustained and ‘long-lasting’.
