Pakistan Steel Mill’s 4544 workers have been retrenched from their jobs and their dismissal orders have been issued and posted them to employees homes.
On this request hearing the news of dismissal one employee of Steel Mill Habib-u-Allah has died cause of heart attack whose dead body was buried into local cemetery after that hundreds of employees had sitting in at national high way near township due to what road was jammed and traffic stopped in the both directions of road.
On that occasion protesters raised severe slogans and mourned against federal government and management of Steel Mill.
On the report police and rangers troops came on the protesting place and tried to control over employees and insisted them to empty the national highway but employees were in a great anger and situation became more tensive that’s why police and rangers backed and employees continued protest till many hours.
On that occasion All Employees Action Committee leaders Mirza Maqsood, Asim Bhatti, Naveed Aftab, Yaseen Jamro, Wajahat Qambrani and others addressed to participants and said that economically massacre has been done after retrenching 4544 employees from their employment against of which they have come from their houses and are expostulating so they will not go their home till their employments are not recovered.
They warned Steel Mill Management that if federal government has bit of shame then it should take decision of retrenchment of employees back and end the mourning from employees houses if not then they have to bear the fierce of employees.
They said that Steel Mill Management has dismissed employees after paying one month salary although their dues have not been paid yet.
They proclaimed to make their protesting movement stronger and harder against Steel Mill Management.
