According to the spokesman of Motorway Police South Zone (Sindh), IG Motorway Police Dr. Syed Kaleem Imam visited Karachi M-9 today where a function was held at Karachi Toll Plaza.
Sector Commander Jamshoro Syed Farhan Ahmed received him.
IG Motorway Police Dr. Syed Kaleem Imam inaugurated the road safety stall set up by the Motorway Police.
On which various road safety items were placed. Dr. Syed Kaleem, IG, Motorway Police, met with FWO, NHA, district police officials, media representatives and members of civil society.
IG Motorway Police Dr. Syed Kaleem Imam while talking to media said that Motorway Police is an institution free from corruption.
Our priority is to protect the lives and property of our citizens. At present, the 4,000 km long motorway police is playing its role in Pakistan.
While another 4,000 km is going to be built soon on which the motorway police is ready to enforce. Our 41 young men have sacrificed their lives. Just as we have inaugurated a road safety stall here today, we are trying to set up road safety stalls in all sectors and zones to increase road safety awareness among commuters. And be aware of their use and have the opportunity to take preventive action before road accidents.
We have increased our personnel and patrol vehicles on the M-9 Motorway from Karachi to Jamshoro in view of increasing traffic pressure and long queues of vehicles at toll plazas during holidays and to help people in a timely manner.
Earlier 12 vehicles were on patrol from Karachi to Jamshoro while at present 21 vehicles and personnel have been increased. He said that my personal use, personal use vehicles of my Additional IG, DIG and Sector Commanders are on road.
He further said that there is a need for you to create road safety awareness among the people through media and make them realize the importance and responsibility of their own lives and the lives of others. To protect your highways from accidents.
