Sindh Government have exempted seed fertilizers & pesticides shop during the period of Lockdown for Continuation of cultivation process in all over the province.

As the sowing season of Kharif crops is about to begin, the provincial government has decided to allow the seed, fertilizer and pesticide shops to open despite lockdown in Sindh, provincial minister for agriculture Muhammad Ismail Rahu said in an official statement on Thursday.

“However, only those dealers and agents will be allowed to open the shops which are registered and approved by the government, and that too during the timings fixed by the government,” he said.

Rahu said that the decision has been taken, as the agriculture sector and the people related to it, will have to face hardships and huge losses.

“No cultivation of cotton, rice, vegetables and fruits could take place if agriculture supplies remained halted. This would cause a colossal loss to the economy of farmers as well as the government.”he added.

Minister said that the Home Department as well as the Deputy Commissioners and Police Officers across the province have been directed to allow the approve dealers of seeds, fertilizers and pesticides to open their shops.
